Geoff Wells, bathroom planning expert for Dolphin Bathrooms, comments:
“When bathroom lighting is carefully planned, it can have a stunning effect and layering a series of options will achieve optimum light levels even in compact spaces.
"If you currently have just a central light, consider a dimmer switch so the ambience can be adjusted, or chose low-voltage downlighters as they wash the walls with light and highlight key areas of the room. Placing ample light where needed, for showering or putting on makeup, will enhance the mood of the room – an illuminated mirror is ideal as ceiling lights alone can cast unflattering shadows. By adding ‘slices’ of light, you will create a multipurpose sanctuary to unwind in.
“When it comes to a complex procedure such as designing a new bathroom, there are always potential pitfalls. Having a bathroom specialist on board is the best way to avoid any disasters and ensure that the finished bathroom is both practical and stylish.”
